Coco-Lemon Energy-Saving Magic!

Researchers Combine Fruits and Wood to Keep You Cozy and Your Wallet Happy

Are you a fan of the delightful and healthy combination of coconuts and lemons? I know I am! (Ok, I lied I don’t like coconuts - Utkarsh, not sure about Carol). However, these tropical fruits may be even more beneficial than we thought, as researchers from Sweden have recently developed a novel material that utilizes these two ingredients to help combat climate change and save energy.

This innovative material is crafted from modified wood that has been infused with extracts from coconut oil and citrus peel, allowing it to effectively store heat during the day and release it at night. Its transparency can be adjusted based on the surrounding temperature, making it ideal for use in regulating indoor climate through windows or panels.

Not only is this material eco-friendly and sustainable, but it can also have a positive impact on our mental health. Imagine residing in a cozy abode that exudes the sweet and refreshing fragrance of coconut and lemon, while simultaneously cutting down on costly heating and cooling expenses. (FYI, we don’t know if it would smell like that but one can hope?) Sounds like paradise, doesn't it? Well, except for the fact that vampires might find the transparency fluctuations rather inconvenient.

This remarkable innovation is just one example of how nature and natural processes can inspire us to discover groundbreaking solutions for the climate crisis. Countless other possibilities exist, and we're committed to continuing to share them with you in our newsletter.

So, the next time you indulge in a refreshing glass of coconut water or tangy lemonade, keep in mind that these fruits possess the incredible potential to help us create a more energy-efficient and climate-positive world.
